Ciao / bonjourno!! Ooh I can see the blue / greens of Lake Como and am whisked back there with you to travel vicariously.

I’m sure you’ve done it, but the Refugio Menaggio walk is a short but good one...

Cross the lake to Menaggio township then catch a local bus to Breglia village to start the walk to the rifugio. It is long and steady ascent on small roads and marked trails but the views from the mountain hut are worth it. You can have a picnic at the refugio or try some of their homemade soup or solid polenta! A short walk above Rifugio Menaggio leads to a wondrous lookout point over both lakes- Como and Lugano in Switzerland. Return on the same track and transfer by bus and ferry back to home base.

My question to you is similar to Sarah Vaona’s - how can we integrate those intense travel moments back into everyday life? How to sustain the magical (& often hard life on the road) to give us inspiration and bravery in the mundane?! 🙏🥰🌳🥾

Looking forward to this Sarah. Thanks.

I’d be interested in a conversation about the process of making normal daily decisions - (whether to fly, whether to drive, whether to buy). I’m getting so tied up with these simple daily things when climate friendly options aren’t available or easy. Sometimes I get paralyzed by it all & just sit on the couch! Really interested to hear what you took into account in deciding to fly. Not to judge, just to hear how others make those decisions.

Thank you Sarah for doing what you do. For living a life less ordinary. For challenging the state of our world. For finding ways to connect. I love watching your journey. I find your newsletter and podcasts endlessly invigorating and they have connected me to other great thinkers and innovators. Keep doing what you are doing and sharing with the world!

So excited to be part of this, and thrilled to hear you're working on another book. the beast & wild and precious are always in the back of my mind as I move through the world as an anxious, climate-aware person.

A question for you: How do we take the peace we find in meditation, solo hikes, head-clearing walks, back into the 'real' world with us? I can get to a place of relative peace, make promises to myself about how to react more calmly, with more equanimity, and then when confronted with just the relentlessness of modern life I find it too easy to get irritable and impatient. Any tips?

I love your openness. I hope Italy is giving you what you're after. If you make it to the UK/London and need anything (transport/local hiking tips/a bit of company/etc.), please just give me a shout, I'd be happy to do what I can.

All the best Sarah, I hope you find what you need in Europe, and enjoy your time away. I understand travel can have a cost, but on balance I think it is good for us and good for humanity. Looking forward to following your journey! (Ps, you may have walked it in the past, but if not and if you’re heading down south, then Il Sentiero degli Dei lives up to its name!)

Looking forward to seeing where you go and what the next project is. May you get good summer weather and inspiring encounters (and not too many creepy drivers).

Thank you for taking us with you, Sarah! I agree with Debra Dorrington's comments below. I feel that my world has shrunk due to COVID, but also in an attempt to consume less and I would love to hear your thoughts on getting back to living without so much fear of getting it wrong.

I also love the idea of little videos of the people you meet along the way.

Thank you, generous soul.
