I’m writing this from a hotel room in Melbourne. I’m here to host a wellness event and I’ve got a cold. Plus I’ve managed to arrive without my credit cards or cash (I don’t have Apple Pay etc because I’m old school and hate face ID and passwords). I’m loving the challenge of it. But not the fact the hotel sprays its lobby and hallways with a “signature scent”. (All you fragrance poison-sensitive folk out there will know I’m talking Sofitel). All roads lead me to walking a lot, fuelled by the fruit bowl in the room.
PS A small reminder of this week’s Wild episode with a death walker. We talk “how to die well”…which segues to what emerged as a theme to this newsletter…
Watch: A spectacular take on not getting married from the 100-year-old ranger
This is the most beautiful mini-bio of a human I think I’ve seen. I don’t want to say too much. The grab captures it all. Betty Reid Soskin was the oldest active National Park ranger in the US, until she retired last year at the age of 100. Watch to the end to Betty’s prescription for freedom and what she’d do differently (you’ll be taken through to my IG page to view it).
