Thanks Sarah.

I'd love if you did a podcast on ageing for women. I really do detest the pressure I feel about ageing, to keep my face and skin youthful because, god-forbid, I look my age, the way that men are allowed to. This might be too personal for you to discuss but I'm sure there are many women out there who can empathise and I'd love to change the way that society looks at women ageing.

In terms of carbon emissions from flying, I deliberate on this also and try to think about how my lifestyle saves on carbon emissions otherwise etc. And I'm only going for a holiday, not for a noble conference. I do think that there is a benefit to travelling and experiencing other cultures in that it helps galvanise me to want to save our beautiful planet even more. When I travel to other new places and see the wonder and awe and intelligence of the earth, it fires me up. Especially when I see how the climate crisis is felt around the globe. When I engage with other cultures, and get out of my own bubble, it helps give me perspective and an understanding about how connected humanity is and how we all need to work together to sustain human life on this planet. And then I think that by travelling to these places and emitting carbon I'm helping to ruin it all. Gah!

One of the hoariest, grubbiest quandaries.

Time for people to conduct a fearless moral inventory of their shortcomings and how these actions affect the environment. Perhaps combining it with a gratitude list to rebalance their place in this world 🌏

Kind of surprised by the title, you appear to be a strong supporter of indigenous voices in Australia! What say you about Indigenous voices of Palestine living under Israel military occupation.

Soooo much to say. It’s why I’m here./ to learn about it. I’m really ignorant of the nuances and pain

Well sometimes you just have to make the best decision you can and not over think it. You've certainly earned a few air miles in my opinion with the work you've done, and it sounds like this is certainly a worthwhile trip. In a way you're taking us all with you on your journey - so that's pretty good value and a massive savings in air miles!

It’s such a tough one. However I feel like you make the world a better place, certainly i find it inspiring, that you are transparent about your quandaries. We all have what I call “environmental vices”. We should be aware of them, challenge them, try to balance them out, and some times there just has to be a level of acceptance. No one is ever going to be the quintessential human being in trying to remedy climate change. Sounds like a wonderful opportunity all the same. Hope it’s fruitful. X

Thank you for going Sarah - and I agree with Sue in the comments, please don't beat yourself up about it! I also feel disgusting for asking, but might I be able to follow how it goes without the paid subscrip? Even just for a few weeks? I can't really subscribe at the moment, but am curious as to what your reflections will be... Tel Aviv airport was my entry route to the Middle East a few years ago and I long to go back to Ramallah, wonder how it's changed, watch the news with increasing concern. Stay safe, and you will be brilliant. x

Instead of preaching I will ask a series of questions. Contact me in 3 days and tell what you found. No back forth climate dialog or data from Climate change Scientist because I haven't seen that Degree. It's Scientists in a field of study applying the Scientific method. OK? I'm hoping you see this as fun. If it's not I will stop. 1. CO2 and temperatures are discovered and cataloged I'm North pole ice cores over millions and millions of time. Find how far back climate activist look back in History for their climate models? 2. Obtain studies researching from today when Dinos roamed to Earth or snowball Earth. Note CO2 vs temperature. Does CO2 track with temperature? Does CO2 rise first and temp follows? Does temp rise and CO2 follow? 3. Find pictures of Cows, lots of Cows. Maybe even in a large gully with green grass and rolling hills. Do you see off in the distance away from the City please. Do you see a yellowish haze or clowd? 4. Find a 5th grade Science book and read the section on The Cabon Cycle: Without out it life on Earth is not possible. What does the book say? Who knows maybe we will both learn something. If it's OK I want to share my dream for Mankind. The is overcrowded with life. We have licked the Carbon cycle problem. A supper advance Civilization we can harness the power inside our Sun. We have learned how to bend space and time. We can send people to the stars to live as they see fit. Maybe a simple life and slowly forget where home was. But to get their the Carbon, Energy, technology, and space travel must all advance at an exponential rate. Yet are sky is still blue and we have survived two ice ages? Would you want to live on a dying world depleted of Carbon for life and resources because your population has become so few Civilization is in the dark ages. We never learned how to mine and manufacture in space? Thank you for reading this.
