Thanks so much, this makes me feel cautiously optimistic. I’ve shared their account on my IG stories, signed my support and shared my story on the website. Interestingly, I searched for the court case on the Apple News app and there was nothing about it so I’m hoping that will change when the case begins.

Yes do sign the pledge and submit your story, it feels so good to stand with the Uncles and Grata in holding the Government to account.

I’ve been thinking about this all day. Is now on my radar.

I went on a dive this morning after reading the post. It was heartening to read past reporting on the story, to know it’s out there and will hopefully continue to be reported on extensively. I will certainly be following, sharing and discussing it.

I enjoyed the idea that there is, understandably, a whole lot of public and political servants who would welcome a ruling that dictates the action that most know we must be take.

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention Sarah! Makes me feel good knowing the Uncles are tackling the government on this for the good of us all.

Thank you Sarah and Isabel for sharing this incredibly poignant message. 🙏🏼

I’ve all for change in the space but we have to be aware that people of lower incomes will suffer the most due to the cost of electricity . This isn’t all to do with renewables, it’s due to our brain dead pollies selling off our grid .

Expand full comment

if you go by capita, india consumes 1/7th what we do. If you include production of FFs, that whole graph is thrown out. The point of this case you're chiming in on is to stop new FF projects. It's not about consumer consumption.

Expand full comment

India is only just emerging. Those Co2 numbers will go through the roof in the next few decades.

The manufacturing is transferring from China and it will be in Indonesia, Vietnam and India.

Furthermore there is no way you can accept any data from China and CCP.

Expand full comment

Actually India's population rate is declining rapidly.

My point remains...this case is about new FF projects in the world being approved. New holes being dug.

Are you defeatist, or anti-the climate fight? I can't tell

Expand full comment

Defeatist mainly, too many politicians controlled by others to see real change occurring and I then become delusional as I see so many on the climate side pushing the narrative all while they are making money off it.

I also think I’m too aware , I love my iPhone to communicate like this but I also know the items to make and produce it were mines by pregnant women.

Expand full comment

So as a privileged man, what are you going to do about it? I'd argue your time is waaaaaay better put to use doing what you can, cooperating, supporting, then telling people who are trying to do something they're wasting time and coughing up facts and figures that are somewhat deceptive and chaos-making. We are not wasting time. We are keeping the human spirit alive.

Expand full comment

Sarah I do certainly continue to do my bit within my sphere. My house and , runs 80 percent of solar, along with my electric car.

But then you hear 80 percent of the items from council recycling bins head into general waste.

I hold little hope our politicians will do anything other than window shop it.

Western countries continue to gloat that emissions are decreasing whilst we ship all our manufacturing overseas .

All numbers are just an expression on whatever way it suits such narratives

Expand full comment

With respect. A trip to China, India or Africa will quickly help everyone understand whatever we do in Australia will have a near zero affect

Expand full comment

not true. All three countries produce a fraction of the Co2 we do as Australians. And Australia produces the fossil fuels...they don't

Expand full comment

Have you been to China?

There is no blue sky

I’ve been to the factories. Seen what they do

People in the cities only drink water from plastic bottles . Shanghai alone is larger than Australia

They are using near 1 billion bottles a day

Expand full comment

When the Chinese plastic water bottles don't have Aust fossil fuels (and all FF prices go up) this will stop

Expand full comment

Having been there , it won’t. 1 billion people there , they get their energy elsewhere

Not when prices are driven up over $US120 a barrel
